Lippy | The Tuxedo Cat

The first time I met lippy was on my way back home. I saw her relaxing in the corridor in my apartment. The hypnotic way she looked at me, I had a natural inclination to pet her.

This went on for a few days and one evening when I was home, I heard a knock on my front door. When I looked through the peephole there was no one. A few moments later there was another knock, when I opened the door, she snuck into the house.

Everyone in the house excited to see a new guest, gave Lippy the attention of her life and she decide to make the house her own. She would come in and go out as she pleases. The main door of the house had a round knob which when not locked, could be opened by Lippy. She would jump and get hold of the knob and twist it and then walk in or out; wouldn't even bother to close the door behind her; the boss way!

Everyone in the house decided to get a couple of bowls, one for drinking water and the other for cat food. Lippy belonged to someone else in the apartment complex but was independent enough to roam around the world when she wanted. Lippy would come home when she needed attention or a better view of the birds from the first floor. She would eat the cat food, drink some water roam around the house, explore and fall asleep at any place readily available (Most of the time it used to be my bed).

I always thought I am a dog person but Lippy never made me feel like she was ever plotting to kill me!

The Tuxedo Cat

Tuxedo cats are best known for their bi-colored coats that look like, well, tiny tuxedos. Although many tuxedo cats are black and white, these gorgeous kitties coats can also be gray, silver, orange, and even tortoiseshell with patches of white. But there's a lot more to tuxedo cats than their good looks!

The richest cat in the world, for example, was a tuxedo cat. And other tuxedo cats have been to war, the top of Mount Everest, and the White House. Yes, really!

Not many cats have run for office. And there aren’t a lot of political parties started by cat breeds or types. But in 2012, breaking with species biases, Tuxedo Stan ran for mayor in Halifax, Canada.

It's common knowledge that cats were highly revered and worshiped as gods by the ancient Egyptians. In fact, several Egyptian goddesses were depicted as cats!

There are a couple of explanations for tuxedo cats fame and fortune. Perhaps the most logical explanations are that tuxedo cats develop incredibly quickly and are accepted as the geniuses of the kitty world.

It takes most cats one to two weeks to open their eyes after birth. But newborn Tuxies? They open their eyes a whole 24 hours before any other kind of cat.

This may be somewhat difficult to prove, but many people believe tuxedo cats are up to 200% smarter than other kinds of cats.

Tuxedo cats are loyal through and through.
