Visapur Fort Trek | Maharashtra

Visapur Fort is a hill fort near Visapur village in Maharashtra, India. It is a part of the Lohagad-Visapur fortification standing at an elevation of about 1084 meters.

This is a fort situated between Old Pune & Mumbai Highway via Malavli local station. The road to the fort is very good. The trek starts about 7 km down and is a fair mix of loose rocks, steps and soil. Best season to go is during monsoon. On the top, there is a plateau and a fantastic view. There are only distinct remnants of the fort as everything related to the fort is gone. The Visapur Fort trek, being of moderate difficulty level, is a good excursion option for beginners, which we can do it in 1 hour one way. On reaching the bottom one can have snacks and tea. There is free parking for cars on the foothills.
