Spent a lovely evening at the Oasis on Lake Travis is a restaurant on the western edge of Austin, Texas. The restaurant promotes itself as the "Sunset Capital of Texas" with its terraced views looking West over Lake Travis. The thirty thousand square foot restaurant sits on as bluff 450 feet above the lake and is the largest outdoor restaurant in Texas.

The Oasis started off as just an idea. Beau Theriot, the owner of The Oasis, has always been a visionary, but never imagined what his idea would blossom into. Thirty-five years later, The Oasis has become a well-known jewel nestled in the Austin hill country. It is best known as The Sunset Capital of Texas because most days, hundreds of guests from all over the world come to see the breathtaking views and quite possibly one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever lay eyes on.

Through the years, they've developed a few important traditions: The Oasis Sunset Tradition, including the Sunset Bell, which has its own story; the annual Oasis Sunset Photo Contest; They have several special spaces for private gatherings of varied size, wedding ceremony and celebration spaces, and two great venues for live music and dancing, Beau's Backyard, and Starlight Terrace.
